TAUNTON, April 11, 2019 - Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island can finally see the largest collection of historic buildings, museums and galleries in one place. Basically, it's the new town hall in Taunton town centre. On two floors and hundreds of stories, it tells the story of the town from its foundation in 1842 until today. It occupies more than 100,000 square feet of museum space and is one of only a handful of museums in Massachusetts with such a large collection.
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in February 1994 and is considered one of the most haunted places in the world. It is said to haunt many of the best places to live in Taunton, as well as other cities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. This is the largest collection of historic buildings and galleries in Massachusetts and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in New England.
