My life has led me to being halfway normal, which is probably a relief to my Catholic family who disliked my Atheism and my little goth or heavy metal stages. After years of being the rebel hating everything and everyone, I've come to realize just how awesome my family really is and that I'm pretty much where I want to be. They realize that being an Atheist is not being a Satanist, and doesn't hurt anyone, nor does it stop me from having Christian, Catholic, and Jewish friends.

I've spanned the work forces starting off as a nerd, then becoming a laborer, a retail slave, and a business owner, but apparently I'll always be a nerd at heart. As of now, I'm trying to expand a screen printing company with my business partner, and I always have a little computer repair work on the side.

I spend my off-time with my friends, or typing away on this silly computer. Sometimes I'll play Uncle and spoil my best friend's kids for a day, which is awesome. "J" is 5 and knows the words to some pretty metal songs! How many 5 year olds do you know that know Twisted Sister songs?

To get away from it all, I sometimes disappear for hours or sometimes even days on end driving to fascinating distant places simply to take pictures and enjoy some peace. I just got an amazing new digital camera(compared to my last one), too, so I've been having a lot of fun with that.

ok so this is the hard part describing myself! Where do I start? I'm just a down to earth girl who is looking for love like everyone else. I can be shy at first but eventually I open up. I tend to find it difficult to describe myself like this. Human beings are so complex-words can really only get you so far when it comes to getting to know someone. And we're constantly changing-we don't stay the same for very long-how can you describe something that is different every time you look at it?

Let's start with the basics. I am a girl. I am fairly short, about 5'3". My hair is naturally a darkish kind of brown-occassionally I decide I want to look different for awhile, and change it. My eyes, like my hair, are constantly changing-usually described as brown, but are often hazel or green (no, not because of contacts, they just change color like that). I usually say my favorite color is blue, but I'm also fond of pink, dark green, black, silver, brown, and white.

I consider myself a Christian, though some of my religious/spiritual beliefs venture outside the realm of Christianity, and I don't think that Christianity has the market cornered on the nature of God/The Afterlife/Spiritual Matters. Maybe we're right, maybe we're wrong, there's really no way to *know* during our lifetime. I think the main thing is that, whatever your spiritual beliefs-or lack thereof-that you try to live right according to what you believe is right. As for politics, I describe myself as an Independent, but I'm definitely more Liberal/Democrat than Conservative/Republican.

I am a very caring, compassionate, emotional person. I have my moments where I can be a complete bitch, but for the most part I try really hard not to be. I can be very insecure-I have a few trust issues that I'm working on, but to be fair I think I have very good reason to have those trust issues. My sense of humor tends to be dry/sarcastic, and I've discovered that people who don't know me that well have trouble telling when I'm joking from when I'm being serious. I'm a very honest person, and try to be very fair and nonjudgemental. I can be really OCD about some things, and can have wild mood swings. I tend to be very communicative and open, but at the same time I can be closed off and reserved. I'm not much of a party girl. Sometimes I like to go out and do things, other times I want to stay in and read or watch t.v. I found listing all my interests to be ineffective at summarizing myself. So I guess I'll just put the qualities that I think describe ME, instead of just the stuff I like.

I'd say my best qualities are that I'm loyal, trustworthy, laid back, stable, kind, friendly, smart, honest, and hard-working (when I have a goal I want to accomplish, or I'm getting paid). I'm a dork at heart and like to entertain myself with gaming, friends, and t.v./movies/books. I'm sure there's more, but can't think of them right now. If you want to know more, just ask. I have had to start over and it has not been easy but the hardest part is this right here. Finding the next person to share my life (or part of my life) with. I don't have one particular persona that I am looking for. I will just know you when I find you. I am looking for that special someone. I know that I am not 20 any longer. The two things I find most attractive in people are a great smile and a sense of humor about life. I like all kinds of activities, and love to hear from others about the fun things they do in life. I'm definitely a "glass half full" kind of person.

I tend to have an adventure junkie personality and have had the great luck to have skied, white water rafted, white water kayaked (kayaked the river "Deliverance" was filmed on), and been hang-gliding. One of my former jobs was as a tour guide for a sports adventure travel company. Alas, as I have gotten older, I have had to learn to select death defying activities more consistent with my need for BenGay at the end of the day.

I think of myself of a caregiver. I'm always there to help out when someone needs it. I am very easy going. I like to have fun but I also like time to relax. I just got back from Afghanistan in Jan. and my wife took off with her boyfriend. O well, thats life. I have a son still at home and he means the world to me. I keep going for him everyday and will never stop for that reason. I'm a very caring person. If I love someone, then I will do everything that I can to make that person happy and content.
